When will my order arrive?
Bird Buddy is currently still in development, which is why it will take a little longer for the orders to arrive than it would if we were fully launched already. Our Kickstarter backers will be the first ones to receive their orders, those are expected to be delivered in September. Indiegogo backers wil receive their orders in October. Other pre-orders placed are set to arrive in November.

Is it squirrel-proof?
After a lot of research and consultation, we’ve come to the conclusion that any attempt to prevent squirrels from visiting would be a futile task. Instead, we focused on making sure that the materials used will be able to withstand significant damage, which should prevent the squirrels from destroying the feeder itself. Right now our priorities lie in making sure that no harm could come to our feathered friends.

Can more than one person connect to one Bird Buddy?

How long does the battery last?
Depending on how many photos you take and how you set up your Bird Buddy, one charge should last you up to 30 days.

How sturdy is Bird Buddy? Is it weatherproof?
Bird Buddy is one tough cookie! It is built to withstand all kinds of weather, and build quality was one of our main goals, so you can trust that it is built to last and record plenty of good times. The central module that houses the camera is weatherproof and will withstand temperature ranges of -5°F to 120°F. It is also detachable so you can easily take it out and safely store it inside on extreme days.

What are the camera specs?
5MP with WDR and a 720p video stream. 720p mainly for battery life purposes, as the component will be able to output 1080p video as well. We will be sure to share more example photos as soon as we can!

Does it need Wi-Fi to operate? Does it have local storage?
This version of Bird Buddy sadly does not have local storage, which means it does require a Wi-Fi connection. Once Bird Buddy is connected to your home Wi-Fi, it uses that connection to send the stream to your mobile device. Our engineering team is looking into implementing local storage in the future!

You can mount your Bird Buddy on a pole, a wall, or a fence;

Hanging cord: This allows you to hang Bird Buddy from just about anywhere!
Pole mount: Bird Buddy comes with a pole mount that can be fitted atop a 1” or 25,4 mm pole.
Available for purchase as an add-on:
Wall mount: Mounting Bird Buddy on a wall is incredibly easy. Just drop it onto the wall mount plate and rotate it in your preferred direction.
Fence mount: The fence mount is as convenient as ever! It suits fences of different sizes, and the universal mount allows you to rotate it, too.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
